Vintage 18ct Gold Sapphire & Diamond Ring

£4,995.00

Superb vintage 18ct gold sapphire and diamond ring, set with three oval cut sapphires, with two beautiful old cut diamonds (approximately 1.5ct). The five-stone sapphire and diamond half-hoop is one of the most enduring designs in antique jewellery. Three deep blue oval cut sapphires alternate with two old cut diamonds in a continuous, evenly matched row that sits beautifully across the finger and catches the light from every angle.

The sapphires total approximately 1.50 carats and are a rich, saturated blue. The two old cut diamonds flanking the central sapphire total approximately 1.50 carats, graded H/I colour and SI clarity — well-matched stones of good size that provide a brilliant white contrast to the deep blue of the sapphires.

The old cut diamonds are entirely consistent with an Edwardian origin — hand-fashioned stones with the characteristic high crown, smaller table, and warm inner fire of the period. The top of the ring retains its original white metal collet settings, typical of Edwardian jewellery where silver or platinum was used for stone settings to complement the cool brilliance of diamonds.
