Vintage Emerald Engagement Rings
Our collection of vintage and pre-owned emerald rings spans Victorian times through to more recent preloved pieces, bringing together hand-selected rings from across more than a century of jewellery making. Emerald comes in a remarkable range of greens — from the pale, bright tones of lighter stones to the deep, forest greens of a fine Colombian emerald — and the older rings in our collection feature stones chosen individually for their colour and character, with a richness and saturation that makes each one entirely its own.
Every ring in our collection has been handpicked by one of our family for its quality and beauty.

FAQs Vintage Emerald Rings

What shades of green do emeralds come in?
1
Emeralds range from pale, bright greens through to deep, forest greens and rich bluish-greens. The most prized stones tend to have a vivid, saturated colour with good clarity, but every emerald is individual — the variation in tone and depth is part of what makes each stone unique.
Are emeralds suitable for everyday wear?
2
Emeralds are a little softer than diamonds, sapphires and rubies, so they benefit from being worn with a degree of care. A ring with a protective setting — such as a bezel or cluster — is generally more practical for everyday wear than one with an exposed claw-set stone. We are always happy to advise on the best option for your lifestyle.

How do I care for a vintage emerald ring?
Our collection changes continuously as our items find new homes, but we usually have rings spanning from the Victorian period right through Edwardian, Art Deco, the 1970’s and 80’s to preloved rings of the last twenty years.
Most can, though it depends on the design and setting. Rings with stones set into the band can be more difficult to resize than those with a plain shank. We assess each ring individually and are happy to advise before you buy.
Emeralds are best cleaned gently with warm water and a soft brush — avoid ultrasonic cleaners and harsh chemicals, which can affect both the stone and any treatments it may have. Store separately from harder stones to avoid scratching.
Every vintage emerald ring is one of a kind, with a history and character that a newly made ring simply doesn't have. Buying vintage also means no new mining and no new manufacturing — an inherently more sustainable choice, without any compromise on beauty or quality.
